Blacksburg, VA

Blacksburg, an incorporated town in
Montgomery
County, Virginia, charted in 1871. Virginia's
largest university, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and
State University (Virginia Tech) is located in
Blackburg. Virginia Tech is ranked 56th among the
nation's top research universities. Virginia's largest
research park, the Virginia Tech Corporate Research
Center (CRC), is located adjacent to the Virginia Tech
campus in Blacksburg.
Blacksburg was recently named by Outdoor Magazine as one of
the top 10 towns to live in the U.S. The town's population
in 2000 was 39,573 persons (2000 U.S. Census).

District, Kentland Farm Historic and Archaeological
District and Miller Southside Residential Historic District
are located within Blacksburg, and the North Fork Valley
